Trapped by A roads

So could we actually change things if we gathered:
1) all the people fighting for justice because they lost a family member in a preventable road traffic accident
2) all the people campaigning for safer streets and better pavements and crossings for disabled people
3) all the people who want to cycle safely

Gather the stats on road deaths locally and nationally

We have all the recommendations via the times Cities fit for Cycling but there needs to be a shift that will dramatically lower the number of deaths and make it actually possible to cross large A roads where roads coming out of towns and villages reach them - they are currently impassable making it impossible for many people to actually leave where they live on foot or by bike. There might not be that many deaths but that has more to do with people not being reckless enough to try to cross.

Could it be that just concentrating on cycling we are holding back the whole issue that the roads are just heavily designed in favour of motorised traffic which is why there are so many accidents/people simply don't walk or cycle as much as they could.

If we are expecting a step change from government, what about a step change from cycle campaigners and be mobility campaigners?
